Ronda Rousey started as a -650 preferred to defeat Alexa Bliss to the 2nd consecutive WWE pay-per-view and keep her WWE Raw women’s championship. Rousey defeated Bliss in a heavily one-sided bout because the co-main event at SummerSlam a month. Alexa has invoked her mandatory rematch clause and will require a much better strategy at Hell in a Cell than she had at SummerSlam. As of Sunday day Ronda’s chances have moved to -1050.
In the lead-up into the rematch, we have seen a continuous dose of Rousey and Natalia in a feud with Alexa, Mickie James and Alicia Fox. Expect most or all those girls to be involved at the finish of this match in 1 way or the other. With Rousey defeating Bliss so handily at SummerSlam, WWE creative has painted this feud to a corner — constructing Rousey to become unstoppable, even by the former winner, much like they did with Brock Lesnar about the men’s side. AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe
Now, this is the way you construct a feud. The writers on the Smackdown brand have now been given gold to utilize thanks to the performances of Samoa Joe and AJ Styles. This has the capacity to be the blow-off with this feud, but it’s so hot I can see it continuing to Survivor Series.
Designs won the SummerSlam game, but the game became secondary to Joe’s (narrative ) disturbance with Styles’ wife and kids. This is the first such angle WWE has depicted because its change to PG and they are pushing the line to the edge of what they’ve previously deemed”acceptable family viewing.” It is a throwback to the mindset era and it would be great to see that this feud continue.
I wouldn’t be surprised to find a screwy finish for this game, setting up a possible title win for Samoa Joe in Survivor Series in November.
