Two Liverpool fans assaulted in Italy before Champions League tie with Napoli

Two Liverpool fans have been assaulted in Naples ahead of the Reds’ Champions League group-stage fixture from Napoli, according to Merseyside Police.
Liverpool will start their Champions League defence on Tuesday in Italy, but there were issues with fan violence prior to the match.
Two men have been confirmed by merseyside Police.
The police announcement read:”At approximately 6pm local time (5pm GMT), it had been reported a range of males on scooters approached the enthusiasts in a bar in town before assaulting them.
“Two men in the UK, aged 26 and 46, sustained superficial cuts and grazes to the head and were treated at the scene prior to continuing to attend the game.
“Local police are aware and Merseyside Police are operating together with police coworkers in Naples to aid in the policing of their Champions League fixture.”
