MMA ODDS AND ENDS FOR FRIDAY: UFC LONDON GETS TILL VS. MASVIDAL, EDWARDS VS. NELSON

UFC London is place with its main and co-main event. The card takes place March 16 at The O2 Arena in London, England, along with my ideas on the two new high-profile spells added into the card are below.
Darren Till vs. Jorge Masvidal, UFC Fight Night 147
An intriguing welterweight matchup between Darren Until and Jorge Masvidal is set since the headlining five-round battle at UFC Fight Night 147. ESPN broke the news. Until (17-1-1) is 5-1-1 general in the UFC and in his final bout suffered his first career loss by entry to champion Tyron Woodley at UFC 228. Until is still one of the most popular fighters in the branch, and all of Europe, so regardless of the reduction he always made a lot of awareness to headline this card at London. He flirted with the idea of going up to middleweight but decided to remain at welterweight to get his hands on Masvidal, who stylistically should put on a fantastic struggle against Till. Masvidal (32-13) is 9-6 overall in the UFC and has not fought since a 2017 decision loss to Stephen”Wonderboy” Thompson. He hasn’t really won a fight in almost two decades since a TKO win over Donald Cerrone, but is still obviously a dangerous and skilled fighter. Masvidal was presumed to combat Nick Diaz in UFC 235, but that struggle fizzled and he’ll now take on forever.
I’m anticipating a really competitive struggle between Till and Masvidal, but given that he’s from England and contemplating all of the gambling support he normally gets, I totally expect forever to be the favorite here. I do think it is a close fight but could definitely be interested in Masvidal if he is available at a plus amount.
Leon Edwards vs. Gunnar Nelson, UFC Fight Night 147
At the same time, a welterweight bout between contenders Leon Edwards and Gunnar Nelson is going to function as co-main occasion of UFC Fight Night 147. Edwards (16-3) is 8-2 at the UFC and is riding a silent six-fight win series at the moment using a decision win over Donald Cerrone in his final outing. He has quietly evolved into one of the best welterweights in the UFC, but has been waiting to get his hands on a top-10 opponent. He’s finally found a taker in the kind of Nelson, who’s coming off of a huge win over Alex Oliveira at UFC 231. Nelson (17-3-1) rode a 1.5 years layoff to the Oliveira fight but completely dominated him for one of the biggest wins of his UFC career up to now. He’s never risen to the championship level that many observers of the game expected he at a point in time, but he’s nonetheless proven himself to be a solid fighter at 170lbs, and the win over Oliveira revealed precisely how great he’s at his finest.
This looks like a different competitive struggle. Edwards has shown a yearlong game in his last few fights but Nelson is clearly an incredibly-dangerous finisher and is coming from a big win. Depending on the recent triumph over Oliviera I would guess Nelson is pegged as the favorite here, but I think Edwards could have a good deal of dangers in what ought to be a very close fight.
